Refrees threaten boycott of Nigeria League matches

The Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) has again threatened to boycott Nigeria League matches, after what it described as “renewed attacks” on its members.

NRA President, Tade Azeez, in a statement confirmed the attack on the referee for Sunday’s league match between hosts Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourists, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

He said the attack on referees has surprisingly continued with Sunday’s attack on the referee who handled the Warri Wolves versus Wikki Tourists match.

Azeez said the NRA has considered it necessary to boycott all matches involving any team referees are either harassed or physically assaulted by them and their supporters.
