A professor, students and a staff of the University of Maiduguri have died in two separate bomb attacks by suicide bombers on the institution’s campus in the Borno state capital
13 others sustained injuries in the attack on a mosque, during an early morning prayers in the senior staff quarters of the university.
One of the two suicide bombers, a seven year old girl, was among those killed in the bomb attack.
The explosion caused panic in the university.
Meanwhile, a third suicide bomber, a 12-year-old girl heading to the university campus had been intercepted.
The girl was sighted at Blaka village behind the university by villagers who promptly alerted the military.
Soldiers shot her dead, without detonating the improvised explosive device strapped to her body which was later deactivated.
