Presidency Urges Resident Doctors To Return To Suspend Warning Strike

The Presidency has pleaded with the resident doctors to suspend their five day warning strike to allow for the conclusion of the ongoing negotiations.

Labour and Employment Minister, Senator Chris Ngige, who made the call, asked the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) to join in the plea to the resident doctors to return to duty.

Ngige expressed concern that the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has not exhausted the mechanism of dialogue before ordering the resident doctors to stop work.

The resident doctors, who began the warning strike on Wednesday after several deadline to government to meet their demands, had complained that no progress was made from their talks with the presidency
