Presidency set up committee to review demands of striking health workers

Prof. Isaac Adewole, Minister of Health

Presidency has set up a committee to review the demands of the striking health workers in federal hospitals.

The committee is to study the technical and financial aspects of the demands.

Spokesman of the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Lawrence Ojabo, in a statement, said the committee was set up at a meeting of top federal government officials on Sunday night in Abuja.

The meeting, according to Ojabo, will continue on Monday and Tuesday.

The health workers, who include all health professionals, except medical doctors, had warned they will call their counterparts in the state and local governments hospitals to join the strike, if they are not called for negotiations early next week.
