Pope falls face flat in Poland

Pope Francis took a tumble as he arrived to celebrate mass in Poland on Thursday, but was back on his feet quickly to continue the service.

The 79-year-old pontiff was walking toward an altar at the southern black Madonna shrine of Częstochowa to mark the one thousand and fiftieth anniversary of the baptism of Poland when he stumbled, the mirror of the UK reported.

A group of altar servers rushed to help Francis, who appeared uninjured.

The pope, who arrived in Poland on Wednesday, will remain in the country until Sunday to visit religious and cultural sites.
