The Supreme Court has shattered the dream of APC to field candidates in the forthcoming polls in rivers state.
The apex court on Tuesday struck out the party’s appeal, which is challenging an earlier judgement of a high court which prevented the party from presenting Tonye Cole as, the state’s governorship candidate.
The apex court upheld one of the appeals filed by a faction of APC, loyal to Senator Magnus Abe in its preliminary objection to the election of cole as the state’s APC governorship candidate.
The court promises to give reasons for its verdict at a later date.
Three other appeals on the state’s disputed primaries are still before the apex court.
