A police corporal, Awoleke Moroof, who allegedly killed a commercial motorcyclist in Ilaro, Ogun state has been arrested by the police and now undergoing orderly room trial.
The State Police Commissioner, Abdulmajid Ali has directed the department of criminal investigation and intelligence of the command to conclude his trial on Thursday and charge him to court.
Ogun state police command spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who made this known in a release, said the police corporal with force number 389719, last Wednesday allegedly shot and killed the motorcyclist identified as Hammed Posi, along Igboro area in Ilaro
Adejobi said the incident degenerated into a violent protest by the commercial motorcyclists in the town on Thursday, leading to attacks on policemen, facilities and vehicles
The police image maker said the mob were later pacified by senior police officers and the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle.
He added that the police commissioner had visited Ilaro for on-the-spot assessment and met with the family of the deceased as well as some community leaders.
