Police vow to track down killers of family of six at Odogbolu

IG wants MOPOL to carry heavy weapons

Police in Ogun state have promised to track down people who hacked an Imam, Sheikh Yusuf Tanimola, his wife and four children to death, in their home at Atiba, near Odogbolu.

The state police commissioner, Ahmed Ilyasu, in a statement by the police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, made the pledge during a visit to the scene of the attack in Atiba.

The police chief who was accompanied on the visit by top officers in the command, assures that the mystery surrounding the brutal murder will be solved by the police

The commissioner said the attack appears to be an insider job, since there were no traces of broken doors or windows in the home where the family of four was wiped out by the assailants.

The names of the four children killed in the attack were listed as Latifat, aged 10, twins – Hamad and Muhammad, both eight years old and Ramat who was two year old.
