All the 14 passengers abducted from a commercial bus by kidnappers along Otan Ile-Imeri Ile road in Osun State, have been rescued.
They were rescued, hours after they were abducted, by personnel of the Police, Department of Security Service, as well as members of the local vigilante and O’Odua People Congress.
The state Police Commissioner, Mrs. Abiodun Ige, announcing the feat, says they were rescued unhurt, while some of the kidnappers escaped with gunshot injuries.
One of the local vigilante sustained gunshot injury during the shoot-out with the bandits.
The victims were in an 18 passenger bus heading from Osogbo to Abuja, when they intercepted by the armed kidnappers at Ajeokun village, and taken into a forest.
