Police have declared war against cultists in Ogun State, particularly those in Ijebu Axis
According to the police, they have embarked on a 24 hour surveillance of some of the areas identified as Black Spots in Ijebu Axis, and other parts of the state. To rid the state of criminal elements, particularly cultists
The state police commissioner, Edwards Ajogun orders cultists yet to be caught, to renounce their membership, or they will regret their decision
He warns that police are ready for the cultists, and that it will now be fire for fire, adding that anyone caught with weapons, or displaying weapons in public, whether they are cultists or not, will be dealt with decisively

He explains that police raid of cultists hideouts in Ijebu Ode had yielded fruit, before a Black Axe member, Michael Jayeola was shot dead last January 19, and his right arm severed at Ijebu Mushin market
According to the police chief, the eleven arrested suspects are allegedly involved in the clashes between rival cultist groups which had left 25 people dead in Ijebu Ode and its environs Some of the arrested suspected cultists, according to him, will be charged for attempted murder, armed robbery and cultism
