Pipeline Vandalism: NSCDC Arrest Suspect In Ogun State

A suspected vandal is now in the net of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for allegedly breaking into a petroleum pipeline at Fidiwo in Ogun State

The suspect was arrested by NSCDC operatives on Friday morning

The outgoing state commandant of the corps, Hameed Abodunrin, made this known, while handing over to the incoming state commandant, Kolawole Taiwo, at the corps headquarters, Kobape in Abeokuta

According to him, two vehicles used by the vandals to siphon product from the pipeline, and sacks of petrol, were impounded by NSCDC operatives

Abodunrin says the products in the seized vehicles had been transferred to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, while the suspect will soon appear in court

The outgoing commandant says that Ogun State is the most peaceful state in Nigeria, despite facing some security challenges

He appreciates the Ogun State government for supporting the state command in term of vehicles, transformer, communication gadgets  and power motorcycles
