Pharmacists have raised an alarm that vital drugs are disappearing from the pharmaceutical product shelves in Nigeria.
They also said the prices of the vital drug still in circulation are rising.
Lagos state branch of the Association of Community Pharmacists raised the alarm during the association day in Lagos.
The Branch Chairman, Biola Paul-Oziah, blamed the worrisome development on the rising cost of foreign exchange which has raised the cost of purchasing and importing drug into the country.
The pharmacist, however, said the prices of drug would drop and be more affordable if Nigeria could produce about 80 per cent of its drug requirement.
