The fire broke out in their residence at 2 am on Monday, in kwara-rafa quarters in the city.
Akaa, who was the acting permanent secretary in the state energy, science and technology ministry, and his family were roasted to death in the fire incident as they battled to escape from the building.
They could not leave the house as the fire erupted in their living room and the exit doors to aid their escape were firmly locked.
By the time the fire was put out three hours later, the whole family has been roasted.
The state deputy governor, Benson Abounu, was among the people who visited the scene.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Catherine Irene, said the bodies had been recovered and deposited in a hospital’s morgue.
