A Former Minister, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has defected from PDP to APC, ahead of the July 14 Ekiti State governorship poll.
With the defection, Adeyeye who was a runner up in the Ekiti State PDP governorship poll, will now work for APC candidate, Doctor Kayode Fayemi, in the July 14 poll.
Adeyeye announced his decision at a news conference in Ado Ekiti.
The politician, who is a former PDP acting national publicity secretary, said he took the decision after consultations with leaders of his political groups across the state.
The decision, according to him, is largely taken to check the alleged despotic tendencies of Governor Ayodele Fayose in PDP, and to fight the pervasive poverty in the state.
Adeyeye, who also was secretary general of Afenifere, joined pdp after losing to former Governor Kayode Fayemi in the 2014 governorship primaries of the action congress of Nigeria.
