PDP factions agree to end leadership crisis

People Democratic Party (PDP)

Two PDP factions have agreed to work together and end the leadership crisis which has almost paralysed the party since it lost woefully in the 2015 polls.

Leaders of the Makarfi PDP Caretaker Committee and the Ali Modu sheriff faction at a joint news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, said it was time for the factions to heal the wound of the 2015 polls and form a united, focussed and constructive opposition party.

Representing the Sheriff faction at the news conference was its Deputy Chairman, Cairo Ojugbo, and Secretary to the Makarfi faction, Senator Ben Obi.

They promised to consult widely with the party’s relevant organs, and then set up a joint commitee to ensure a holistic reconciliation.
