PDP extends Makarfi Committee’s tenure

A faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has extended the tenure of the Makarfi caretaker committee for one year.

The tenure was extended by PDP delegates at the mini-convention held at the secretariat of rivers state PDP in Port Harcourt, after the original venue of the national convention in the city was sealed up by security operatives.

Ahead of the mini-convention, the faction’s National Executive Council had met at the rivers state government house in Port Harcourt, after the original venue of the National Convention was sealed up.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, moved the motion for the opening of the mini convention, which later extended the tenure of Makarfi caretaker committee by one year, to pave the way for ending the party leadership crisis.

The faction’ Spokesman, Dayo Adeyeye, said the convention took place despite the seal-up of the convention venue.
