The Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, is considering moving to a permanent site to create more space for its expansion programmes.
The planned relocation, follows the acute shortage of physical infrastructure in the teaching hospital.
Chief Medical Director, Doctor Peter Adefuye announces the proposed move while receiving members of the health committee of the house of assembly monitoring the implementation of the 2019 budget.
For instance, the chief medical director says the accident and emergency units could no longer cope with the volume of victims of accidents from the Lagos-Benin expressway.
The permanent site, according to him, will provide space for expansion for the eye clinic, ante-natal clinic, consulting rooms and patients waiting rooms.
He also says that the hospital needs more trauma, medical and surgical wards.
