One person has been feared dead in a multiple autocrash at Asero in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Five others were injured in the autocrash that involved a Micra taxi cab, marked SGM-918-XA, an Honda accord, marked EKY-191-EM and a Nissan taxi cab, marked AYE-814-XA, at a spot between the Aladesanmi junction and Muda Lawal stadium.
Spokesman of the Ogun State Trafic Compliance and Enforcement Corp (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the accident, says the accident was caused by brake failure.
“The car veered off its lane and rammed into the oncoming Nissan Micra taxi, killing the driver instantly. Another Nissan taxi was also involved in the accident. Five people were injured in the multiple crash, including two adults and three children,” he added.
Friends and associate of the taxi driver feared dead were seen weeping at the scene of the accident.
The five injured victims were reportedly taken to the Sacred Heart Catholic Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta, while the driver of the Honda Accord was arrested by men of the Obantoko Police Station.
