Governor Simon Lalong of plateau state has played down the absence of APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, from the last Saturday’s campaign rally of the party’s candidate for the Ondo State Governorship Poll in Akure.
Lalong, who is APC Governorship campaign chairman, says Tinubu’s absence is no big deal for APC, especially since President Buhari and APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, attended the rally.
Apart from Tinubu, three of the four south west APC Governors stayed away from the rally.
Governor Lalong, speaking to the state house correspondents after meeting with president Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, along with steel and mines minister, Doctor Kayode Fayemi, recalls that Tinubu sent apologies to the rally that he was ill.
Buhari, at the rally, had defended the APC Governorship primaries disputed by Tinubu, asking APC aspirants, who lost out to try their luck in future polls.
