Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun,

Political office holders in the Ogun state Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) are yet to collect salaries since their inauguration in October last year.

A bill seeking to fast-track their payment has gone through the first and second reading at the state House of Assembly.

The Ogun State Local Government/Local Council Development Areas Amendment Bill seeks to accommodate their salaries and other entitlements.

The House majority leader, Adeyinka Mafe, who moved the motion on the bill at the plenary on Thursday, said its quick passage will facilitate the payment of remuneration to political office holders in the new councils, since last October.

The Speaker referred the bill to the finance and appropriation committee for further consideration.
