Ogun state government has set up a committee to cope with the influx of commercial motorcycles into the state, as part of measures to tighten security.
The committee on public transport is to work out the modality for identifying the commercial motorcyclists.
The commandant of Ogun state social orientation and safety corps, Soji Ganzallo, who made this known on a RockcityFM Programme: ‘daybreak show‘, says the motorcyclists will be issued with jackets and number for effective identification.
There will also be a registration of the commercial motorcyclists in the state.
He also cautions commuters travelling within and outside the state to beware of the commercial vehicles they are boarding, to avoid falling victims of one chance criminals.
Ganzallo explains that some criminal elements are using cars disguised as a taxi to lure their victims who they always robbed after boarding them.
Such vehicles, according to the commandant of Ogun state social orientation and safety corps, usually carry private number plate, instead of the green coloured commercial vehicle number plates
