Teachers in Ogun State’s public secondary schools have cried out, over the rise in the number of cult groups in the schools.
The state chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Akeem Lasisi, says students from the age of 10 are now very active in cultist activities in public secondary schools.
Lasisi, represented by the secretary Egba block of the union, Mr Olufemi Ayannuga, raised the alarm, in a goodwill message to the flag off of the codeliners at the Abeokuta Grammar School, Idi aba, Abeokuta.
He explained that the cultist groups goes with different names such as, killer boys, school two guys, jagbon, dangerous boys, silent killers, executors, and kill-the-teachers.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun speaking at the recent Ogun State Education Summit in Abeokuta, also raised an alarm over the spread of cultism to some of the public primary schools in the state
