Ogun State Government has taken over the running of 28 community schools across the state, to inject life into them
577 Teachers in the 28 Schools were also absorbed into the state’s civil service
Over 9,000 Students were in the schools
The State Governor’s special adviser on primary, secondary and vocational education, Mrs Aderoke Soyombo, made this known in a statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin
Aderonke explains that the Amosun administration rejected the request of the 28 schools for absorption into the state’s public school system
The Special Adviser says Governor Dapo Abiodun approves the take-over of the community schools, because they are insolvent
She adds that the absorbed 577 Teachers in the schools are not part of the ongoing recruitment of 1,500 new teachers in the state..
