Ogun State Selected For Alternative Power Generation Pilot Project

Federal government has selected Ogun State as one of the three states for the implementation of its pilot project of generating electricity from wastes and other alternative sources.

Director general of the energy commission of Nigeria Professor Eli Jidere Bala, who announced the project during a visit to Governor Ibikunle Amosun in Abeokuta, said a steering committee set up to implement the mini -grid project are working round the clock.

Bala said the commission was saddled with the responsibility of providing an alternative source of power to Nigerians to end epileptic power supply in the country.

Governor Amosun promised the readiness of his administration to support the proposed alternative power project in the state.

He said the federal government initiative on the alternative energy will go a long way towards boosting the nation’s economy
