The Ogun State chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) had a change in government as new executive committee was elected to pilot the affairs of the association.
The election was a reflection of part of the promises of Governor Dapo Abiodun to pilot education in Ogun State to its promise land.
The peaceful election that was held inside the Alake Sports Complex, Abeokuta, at the weekend, made Com. Simeon Damilola (Daosmos), a student of Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu-Ijebu the new State Chairman of the association unopposed.
Damilola speaking with Rockcityfm correspondent, Yemi Eniola appreciates the students of the state for their full support and for believing in him, assuring not to fail them.
He said Governor Dapo Abiodun has being a leader and supporter of student activities, with the vision to push education in Ogun State to its promise land.
Also available at the election, S.A to Governor Dapo Abiodun on students affairs, Com. Azeez Adeyemi, representing Ogun State governor and Com. Ifekayode Akinbode, consultant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Media.
Adeyemi in his speech with Rockcityfm said Ogun State Government had laid down plans for the development of education in Ogun State.
He said part of the governor’s plan to push education forward in the state is to pay bursary to all students who are indigene of Ogun State nationwide as names is being collated.
He showed his appreciation to everyone involved in the election for making it peaceful and free of violence.
He also commend the state government for not failing and disappointing the students in the state.
Other elected members are Com. Ekundina Segun Elvis, who was re-elected as the Vice-Chairman for the second consecutive time, Com. Agbeniyi Abiodun, Assistant General Secretary, Com. Odeyemi Ezekiel, Welfare Director, Com. Taiwo Samson, Sports Director, and Com. Bello Adewale, Director of Treasury.
