Ogun State Government says it has spent n1.56 billion on the ongoing 250 Bed Hospital project at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, between January and March this year.
The n1.56 billion is pumped into the Hospital project within three months to ensure the completion of its first phase before May 29.
Health Commissioner, Doctor Babatunde Ipaye, who made this known during the defense of his ministry’s 2019 budget performance before the State House of Assembly Finance and Appropriation Committee, explains that the amount expended represents 52.9 percent of the n2.95billion approved for the project this year.
According to Ipaye, the Hospital will be well-equipped with medical facilities to enhance quality health-care delivery to the people.
The Commissioner also told the assembly committee that vaccine cold room facilities are now in every Local Government Areas for the storage of drugs and make them available to patients and accident victims in the state.
Ipaye, while lauding the lawmakers for the passage of the State Health Insurance Scheme, enjoined the donor agencies to increase their intervention to improve the State’s primary health care centres.
