Ogun state government has set aside N6 billion in its proposed 2017 budget for the construction of new housing estates in Ifo, Ijebu Ode and Ado Odo local government areas of the state.
Also, provision is made in the proposed budget for the completion of site and service scheme at the PMB Estate, along the Abeokuta-Sagamu interchange expressway, which will be expanded to 170 hectares from 50 hectares.
Housing Commissioner, Segun Abiodun, made this known while defending his ministry’s votes in the proposed state’s 2017 budget before the finance and appropriation committee of the state House of Assembly in Abeokuta.
Abiodun also said that priority will be given to the ongoing implementation of the Mitros City housing project in Isheri on the state’s border with Lagos State, and urban renewal projects to attract more investors to the Agbara Industrial Estate in the Yewa axis.
In the ministry’s 2017 budgetary votes, the commissioner said N80 million is also provided for the payment of compensation to the owners of land in areas designated for developmental projects.
