Ogun state government is set to facilitate the sharing of assets of the state’s 20 local governments, with the newly created 37 local council development areas (LCDAs).
Local government and chieftaincy affairs commissioner, Chief Jide Ojuko, made this known to newsmen on the sideline of the interactive session with the new chairmen and secretaries to the local governments and the LCDAs, as well as heads of local government administration in Abeokuta.
The commissioner blamed the delay in sharing of the assets, to the late inauguration of the principal officers in the state’s 20 local government and 37 LCDAs.
The principal officers, including the secretary to the local governments and the heads of local government administration, were sworn into office last week.
With their inauguration, the report of the committee, set up by Governor Ibikunle Amosun to share the assets, could now be implemented.
