Ogun state government is seeking the assistance of the World Bank to complete the construction of the 32 kilometre Sango Ota-Berger expressway project.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun made the plea while receiving the World Bank and Rural Access and Mobility Project team led by the senior private sector development specalist, Feyi Borofice, at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta
The Sango-Berger axis, the governor told the World Bank team, is a commercial corridor which can host several investors seeking to come to the state.
He said while his administration is ready to vote billions of naira to kickstart the resumption of work on the project, a lot of funds is still needed to finish it.
The transportation expert of the World Bank team,Tresfor Micheal said the rural road initiative will link three rural economic corridors of Ogun, Oyo and Lagos states to enable farmers to transport their goods to the urban centres in the region.
