Ogun gives N54m Fadama loan to farmers

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has requested for the approval of the Ogun state House of Assembly, to access a N4 billion loan ahead of the rainy season to procure adequate fertilizer to boost food production in the state.

Amosun, in his letter read by the Speaker, Suraj Adekunbi, during the House plenary, said the loan is to be provided under the Federal Government’s special fertilizer intervention programme.

According to the governor, about 40,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer will be needed by farmers in the state to increase their production.

He explained that the fertilizer will be made available to farmers in time and at affordable prices.
