Ogun State government has sealed a company in Sango-Ota for failing to install an effluent treatment plant to take care of its wastes.
Environment commissioner, Bolaji Oyeleye, ordered the seal up of the factory during a routine monitoring of industries in Sango –Ota.
The company which, according to the commissioner, manufactured roofing materials, had been discharging sludge and waste water from its processes into the environment over the years.
Oyeleye, who was represented by a senior special assistant to the governor on environment, Alhaji Oyesiku Amosun, said government was compelled to take the action after several warnings to the company to stop discharging its effluent to the environment.
Amosun said the company would not be unsealed, until it installs an effluent treatment plant that would take care of its wastes. Please subscribe to our newsletter
