Ogun receives $2bn Chinese grant for the take-off of light rail project

Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun,

Ogun State government has received the $2billion grant for the construction of the proposed light rail project.

The grant was released by the China Exim bank which is paying 90 per cent of the cost of the rail project.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun who made this known during a chat with members of the organised private sector at the government house, Oke Igbein, Abeokuta, said the state is ready with its ten percent counterpart fund for the take-off of the project.

The governor also spoke on the agreement reached with transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi on the light rail project.

 

Meanwhile, the governor said the monthly internally generated revenue of the Ogun state government has hit between N6 billion and N7 billion, from the previous N5 billion.
