Ogun State government has said it will investigate the alleged involvement of some officials of the community development and co-operatives ministry in the alleged manipulation of the award of its annual grant to community development associations (CDAs).
The state community development and cooperatives commissioner, Gbenga Adenmosun, who gave this indication on a Rockcity FM programme, “Daybreak Show”, promised to punish any official involved in the alleged manipulation of the grants meant for community development projects.
Two of the community development associations at Ogo-Oluwa in Alogi area, in Odeda local government area, and Obada estate in Rounda area of Abeokuta, the state capital, during the programme, accused some unnamed officials of the ministry of manipulating the award of the annual grant.
The state government according to him, disbursed over N49 million as grant to support developmental projects of some of the 8,000 community development associations (CDA) in 2017, promising to do more this year.
Ademosun said that a forum will hold on Thursday February 22 for heads of community development associations where the issue of security will be addressed.
