Ogun PPP: Manufacturers Demand Tax Holiday

Manufacturers operating in Ogun State, have  demanded a tax holiday to participate in the state government’s public private partnership (PPP) initiative.

The state government has floated the PPP initiative to encourage the investment by the organized private sector in the provision of roads and other infrastructural projects in the state.

Secretary of the state chapter of the manufacturers association of Nigeria (man) , Mrs Motunrayo Elegbeerun made the call  during a public hearing on the state public private partnership bill  organized by the state house of assembly in Abeokuta.

The tax holiday, according to the association, will serve as incentive for companies to partner with the state government in investing in the  construction of roads and development of other infrastructural facilities.

The manufacturers are also calling for their inclusion in the running of the proposed office of the state public private partnership, to ensure the proper utilization of resources for the provision of infrastructure in the state.

The State Assembly Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo assures the stakeholders at the public hearing that the assembly will consider their submissions while deliberating on the passage of the bill..
