A citizen complaint centre has been set up by Ogun State’s new police commissioner to obtain useful information on police activities and its officers in the state.
The centre in turn will report to the state police command on any form of misconduct of any police officer serving in the state.
The police commissioner, Edgal Imohinm, unveiling the initiative during his maiden news conference in Abeokuta, promises to flush out bad eggs within the police command for effective policing in the State.
The establishment of the citizen complaint centre, according to him, is part of his” community policing and safety partnership strategy” aimed at gaining public trust in the police.
The citizen complaint centre according to the police chief, will operate for 24 hours, and respond promptly to complaints from members of the public in English, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo languages.
He rolls out the centre’s hot lines as, including 0708-1970-735, o7o8-3817-391, 0818-9009-113, 0816-4684-395, 0805-8701-143, 0806-014-8672, 0708-015-4562, 0806-474-1658 and 0806-474-1875.
