Ogun police rescue two from kidnappers

Police have rescued the wife of an APC chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming council poll, Mrs Kudirat Balogun abducted last week by gunmen at their residence in Olomore area of Abeokuta.

The woman was rescued at mile two area of the Ogun state capital.

The state Police Commissioner, Ahmed Ilyasu, who made this known to newsmen at the police officers mess in Abeokuta, said no ransom was paid to secure her release.

The police chief also said police rescued an hotelier, Otunba Gbenga Taiwo, abducted by gunmen at Isanyin in the Ijebu waterside last Monday at Iperu Remo.

Ilyasu who said officers of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad were immediately deployed to search for the abducted persons, said they are still on the track of the kidnappers.
