Ogun Police Recover Body Of Fleeing Injured Kidnapper

Police in Ogun State have recovered the body of one of the kidnappers who escaped during the shoot-out, in a bid to rescue an abducted tipper driver at Mologede, near Bode Olude in Abeokuta

The personnel of the police, So Safe Corps and other security agencies combing the forests in the axis for the escaping kidnappers, also found one of them injured

With this development, security operatives have killed two of the kidnappers and injured another, in the exchange of gunfire with the kidnap gang, during which the abducted driver was rescued alive

Spokesman of the state police command, Deputy Superitendent Abimbola Oyeyemi, says the injured kidnapper, who is now in a police custody, is a former convict

Oyeyemi says the ex convict was recently released from police custody in oyo state

He lists items recovered from the hideout of the kidnap gang in the forest, as including packets of Tramadol tablets, and Weeds suspected to be Marijuana

The state police commissioner, Edwards Ajogun, has directed the transfer of the injured kidnapper to the anti-kidnapping unit at the state police command for further investigation
