Ogun State government plans to host the current WBA and IBF heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Joshua, to a reception for defeating his challenger, Carlos Takam, last Saturday.
Secretary to the state government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, made this known to newsmen, after the special meeting of the state executive council, at the Governor Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, to celebrate the Nigeria-born British boxer.
Joshua is an indigene of Sagamu, in the Remo axis of the state.
Joshua, according to Adeoluwa, had already indicated his readiness to honour the invitation of the state government.
He said the state government sent a delegation led by the Deputy Governor, Yetunde Onanuga, to Cardiff to support the boxer during the bout last Saturday.
