Ogun orders reopening of hotels, restaurants, event centres

Ogun state government has approved the immediate re-opening of hotels and other entertainment centres, shut down last march, to contain the spread of Covid-19 across the state

Also affected by the re-opening order are clubs, viewing centres, suites, guest houses, restaurants, motels, cinemas, fast food lounges, eateries, bars and houses providing accommodation for tourists and others

Governor Dapo Abiodun who announced this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, also Okays the full re-opening of religious centres and schools, to return to their regular programmes of activities

The governor, however, directs the entertainment centres to obey the stipulated Covid-19 protocols, including social distancing, temperature check, using only 50 per cent of their space for guests and a maximum of four customers per table

Also, hotels and other entertainment centres are not allowed to operate buffer service, while all cinemas must close by 10 pm The governor says the state government will monitor their compliance and will not hesitate to apply selective shutdown of any of the entertainment centre which violated the stipulated conditions for their reopening
