Ogun Needs N218.3BN to Complete Daniel and Amosun Projects

A panel set up by Governor Dapo Abiodun has said that his administration requires more than N218.3 billion, to complete all the contracts and projects left behind by the Daniel and Amosun administrations, between 2009 and 2019

88 of the projects are in the works and infrastructure sector, one in agriculture, three in education, one in housing, two in health and two in commerce and industry sectors

Ogun state contract and project review committee, headed by Engineer Adekunle Mokunolu made this known, while presenting its findings virtually to the governor

Mokunolu, a former president of Nigeria society of engineers, says n130.7 billion was paid for contracts and projects executed during the ten year period

He puts the total amount yet to be paid for certification of valuation for work done on the projects at n20.7 billion

The governor, represented by his deputy, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, says the era of awarding contracts on the impulse of governors in Ogun state is gone According to the governor, with limited fund, there is now the need for a strategic allocation of resources before embarking on any public project
