Ogun government to spend N345.4bn on projects, services in 2018

Ogun Assembly begins consideration of the state’s proposed 2018 budget

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has presented the Ogun state 2018 appropriation Bill of N345.4billion to the state House of assembly, for consideration.

The Appropriation Bill is about 57 percent higher than the outgoing 2017 budget of N221.1 billion.

The breakdown of the budget shows that capital expenditure is allocated N223.7 billion, which is about 64.7 percent of the expenditure, while the recurrent expenditure takes N121.6 billion.

Education sector is allocated the lion share of N79.2 billion, representing 22 percent of the budget size.

Presenting the budget bill, Amosun saID that N73 billion is voted for rural, infrastructural development and employment generation, N45 billion for housing  and urban renewal projects , N21 billion each for  agricultural and health  sectors respectively.

 

Responding the Speaker, Suraj Adekunbi promised that the State Assembly will do justice to the bills.
