Ogun State Government has assured members of the National Youth Service Corps posted to the State that its focus is to ensure they are employed within the State after completing their service.
The State government promises to create a conducive atmosphere, including security, infrastructure and access to job opportunities to make them secure jobs.
Special adviser to the State Governor on job creation and youth empowerment, Lekan Olude, gave this indication while speaking to newsmen on the sideline of the opening ceremony of the 2019 batch ‘c’, stream one of national youth service corps members at their orientation camp, Sagamu.
Olude explains that several initiatives had been launched by the Abiodun Administration within the past four months to create opportunities for new jobs.
According to Lekan Olude, under the anchors borrowers Programme alone, the state rolled out slots for 10,000 farmers on the job portal, over 300 jobs are also listed on the portal for companies both in the states and Lagos states to recruit individuals, there is also an ongoing recruitment of 1,500 teachers and with the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital OOUTH and the hospital management board getting ready to recruit, and other empowerment programmes like OPERATION PAINT OGUN coming up soon, there is no limit to the opportunities for Youth Corp Members and the youth in general in Ogun State.
He assures the Youth Corps Members that the State Government will not discriminate against them in term of their state of origin in accessing the available job opportunities available in the State.
