Ogun exceeds cassava production target

Ogun State government says it has surpassed the targeted production of 100 hectares of cassava for the year 2016.

Permanent Secretary in the Rural Development Ministry, Odugbemi Olugbebi said over 1,000 hectares of cassava had, so far, been produced, while additional 20 hectares would be planted.

Olugbebi made this known, while receiving members of the oil, gas, water resources and energy of the state house of assembly, who are on oversight visit to monitor the performance of the state 2016 budget.

He said the feat was made possible by the collaboration of the ministry with the Africa Technology Foundation.
