The delay by the Ogun State Government, in releasing the results of the 2015/2016 Basic Education Certificate Examination, (BECE) written by Final Year Students, in the state’s Junior Public and Primary Schools, is causing anxiety in the State’s Education Sector.
The Students wrote the examination last July, shortly before the end of the 2015/2016 academic session.
Eight weeks after the new academic session resumed, the students are yet to get the results of the examination needed for placing them in the senior secondary schools.
Aggrieved parents and other major stakeholders in the State’s Education Sector, have expressed concern over the development.
Most of the private schools operators explained they coped with the challenge by using their internal examination results instead of the BECE Results to admit new students into their senior secondary school one class.
The same thing goes for the public schools, but the students are yet to be grouped into either science, commercial or arts class.
