OGUN COUNCIL POLL: INEC calls for collection of unclaimed PVC

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has asked owners of the unclaimed over 300,000 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Ogun state to collect them, ahead of the October 8 council polls in the state

The State INEC Administrative Secretary, John Aderinto, made the call during the stakeholders workshop organized by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) for the Ogun Central Senatorial District at Ake, Abeokuta.

He said the unclaimed PVCs were still at the INEC offices in the state’s 20 Local Government Areas.

Aderinto who was represented by the INEC Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Leo Nkedife said the agency was liasing with its Abuja Headquaters to effect the release of the remaining PVCs to their owners before the council election.

Ogsiec Chairman, Alhaja Risikat Ogunfemi who promised a level playing field for the political parties taking part in the exercise, asked them to adhere strictly to the election time and guide lines as ground rules for the conduct of the election.
