Ogun State government has paid compensation to the owners of structures demolished for the proposed Lusada-Igbesa expressway project, in the Yewa axis of the state.
The ten-kilometre road project leads to the Igbesa Industrial Estate.
Works and infrastructure commissioner, Olamilekan Adegbite, distributed the compensation cheques at a ceremony at Igbesa, to the affected owners of the demolished structures.
Adegbite said about 232 structures were demolished for the take-off of the project.
“The State Government in its magnanimity has decided to bring this compensation exercise to Igbesa to ease the difficulty the beneficiaries might encounter if they come to Abeokuta to collect their bank drafts,’’ he said.
The project, according to the commissioner, will be completed within six and eight months.
