Police in Ogun State have given a community near Ijebu Igbo to produce a missing police constable Emmanuel Gene

The state police commissioner, Edwards Ajogun, told leaders of Ilu Titun village to produce the constable dead or alive within 48 hours

Ajogun, who issued the directive, at a meeting with the community leaders in Abeokuta, attended by the state Forestry Commissioner, Tunji Akinosi, says that the police command had been restraining itself from raiding the village and its environs, in search of the missing constable, to avoid bloodshed

The police chief, however, warns that police may have no option if the community failed to produce the constable within the next 48 hours

The police team, assisted by local vigilantes were able to arrest some of the suspects and seized several arms and ammunition, only to be ambushed on their way back to the police station

During the ambush, a divisional police officer was shot, while four other police officers, including the constable were taken away  by the suspects, who also set the police patrol van on fire A police reinforcement managed to rescued three of the police officers, but the suspects took the constable away
