Ogun State government has begun the construction of the 22-kilometere six lane Sagamu-Ogijo-Ikorodu road, in the Sagamu local government area.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun, while inspecting the on-going road projects in Sagamu and Ijebu-Igbo, promised that the road project will be commissioned within the next 14 months.
The governor, who said the road is among several to be completed before he leaves office in 2019, assures that fund had been saved for the completion of the on-going road projects.
Other roads mentioned by the governor are the Itele-Ikongba road, Eruwon to Atan Road, in the Ijebu-Ode local government area, as well as, Emuren to Ode-Lemo Road, in Sagamu local government area, and the 26 kilometre Ilisan to Ijebu-Igbo Road.
Other roads listed for completion within the period are, Ilogbo to Iju Road, Ifo to Ososun Road, Imusin to Owu-Ikija Road and Olodo to Alagbagba Road, all in the Ogun Central district.
Amosun also promised that the ongoing flyover bridge project in Ijebu Igbo, will be open for use within the next few weeks.
