*Ogun Assembly Passes State’s 2021 Budget With Adjustments

Ogun State House of Assembly has passed expenditure, totalling N338.6 billion, for the state’s 2021 budget, with adjustment in the bill submitted by Governor Dapo Abiodun

The house reduced the capital votes from N176.6 billion in the original budget to N171.8 Billion, while the recurrent expenditure of N141.7 billion was raised to N146.5 billion

With the adjustments, the approved budgetary allocations for the 2021 budget, are N146.59 billion for the recurrent expenditure, N171.8 billion for capital expenditure and N20.18 billion for the consolidated revenue fund charges

The adjustment was made in the recurrent estimates of 29 agencies, capital votes of 27 others, and the revenue projections of 18 ministries, departments and agencies

Also, the projected internal loan was cut from N98.3 billion to N95.7 billion

The appropriation bill was passed after the finance and appropriation committee moved a motion for the adoption of its report, which was approved by the whole house through voice vote

The bill was then adopted clause-by-clause

The speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, had directed that a clean copy of the bill be forwarded to governor Abiodun for his assent The house had adjourned till January 14, 2021
