Twenty six aggrieved Ogun State house of assembly candidates have asked the party national working committee to issue them with candidate form, to contest in the 2019 polls.
The 26 candidates who are loyal to Governor Ibikunle Amosun, accused the committee of withholding the forms already issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The candidates, who are the state APC consensus candidates, were elected in the last October 7 house of assembly primaries.
Their Spokesman, Segun Idowu, addressing a news conference in Abeokuta, insists that the state primaries which elected them was authentic, as it was conducted by the APC national electoral committee led by retired colonel Ali Ciroma.
Idowu explained that the non-release of the candidate’s forms to them came as a surprise, especially when the party’s national Chairman, Adams Oshiomole, claimed that the 26 names of the candidates who won the primaries had been submitted to INEC, without pasting the list of the candidates.
The candidates include information and strategy Commissioner, Otunba Adedayo Adeneye and Education, Science and Technology Commissioner, Mrs Modupe Mujota.
Last Saturday, Governor Ibinkunle Amosun also cried out over the non-issuance of the forms to the 26 candidates by the APC national working committee.
